About Top Watch Repair

We started as a small bench operation and built our reputation one carefully serviced watch at a time. Transparency and craft are still what we lead with.

How We Began

Built on the Bench, Not in a Boardroom

Top Watch Repair grew out of a straightforward idea: that watch owners deserve honest, skilled service from people who genuinely understand what they're working on. Our lead watchmaker, Marcus Holden, started taking in watches for friends and colleagues long before there was a proper shop. Word spread steadily, and what began as a side practice became a full-time operation on Division Street.

We have never tried to be the largest watch repair business in Michigan. What we have tried to be is the most straightforward one. Every customer receives the same thing: a clear explanation of what was found, an accurate quote, and work that is performed with care for the timepiece itself — not speed or volume.

Over eighteen years, we have worked on everything from everyday quartz watches to rare vintage movements. We know when we can help and when we cannot, and we communicate both clearly.

What Guides Us

Our Principles

Honest Assessment

We tell you what we find, whether it's good news or not. We will never recommend work that isn't genuinely needed.

Craft Over Speed

We take the time each service requires. Rushing a movement clean or a gasket replacement introduces risk that isn't worth the saved minutes.

Clear Communication

You receive a written quote before work begins. If anything changes during the service, you are contacted before we proceed.

Respect for the Object

Every watch in our care is treated as if it were our own — handled with the appropriate tools, stored safely, and returned in the condition we would want to receive it.
